Natural Resource Management

EECI offers conservation landscape planning and construction services using native beneficial vegetation to create a sustainable ground cover, understory, and canopy. From design to installation and maintenance, EECI will meet your conservation landscape planning needs.

In order to provide the planning and application of the Green Technology Best Management Practices (GTBMP) and products required for sustainable community living, EECI may assist before, during, and after post-construction build out.

Integrated Vegetation Management

Integrated Vegetation Management (IVM) practices are applied for the restoration of eco-sensitive areas. Native nuisance and exotic invasive vegetation are controlled or eradicated. Some target species include Phragmites Australis, Bamboo, Multiflora Rose, Autumn Olive, Vines, and aquatic invaders. IVM processes may be applied to:

  • Forested areas
  • Conservation areas
  • Riparian buffers
  • Stormwater Management Systems
  • Industrial Sites

Fish and Wildlife Management

The Delmarva Peninsula is home to a huge population of resident Canada Geese that negatively impact aquatic ecosystems and degrade the aesthetic appeal of many communities. EECI offers a variety of non-lethal tools to control goose populations and reduce the associated impacts. We also offer trapping services for burrowing muskrats and other nuisance animals.

Wetland Creation, Mitigation and Enhancements

EECI provides wetland creation design, construction and management support services. Based on site-specific conditions and design goals, these practices are applied to wetlands on conservation lands that may be affected by consent decrees, regulatory mandates, and permit requirements. Best management guidelines typically include vegetation management practices, fish and wildlife management, sediment and erosion control, human impact deficiencies, monitoring and corrective action reporting.

Conservation Areas/Easements Maintenance

EECI provides maintenance, monitoring, and management services for meeting clients' specific regulatory needs regarding Conservation Areas and Easements. These areas are often regulated by government agencies and may require monitoring reports.

Community Forested Area Monitoring & Maintenance

EECI provides forested area monitoring, maintenance, and management services. Envirotech may implement active environmental management services to maintain forest ecosystem ecological health. Invasive species control, deadfall/fire fuel monitoring, tree disease, and negative human impacts are considered.

Comprehensive Open Space Planning and Management

EECI provides design, construction, and conservation landscape management services to land planners, engineers and development teams for residential subdivisions and municipal projects such as:

  • Mitigation sites
  • Conservation areas
  • Stormwater management facilities
  • Community green space
  • Rain gardens
  • Watercourse riparian buffers

Riparian Buffer and Coastal Zone Restoration and Management

EECI provides riparian buffer and coastal zone maintenance, monitoring and management services. EECI considers site-specific conditions, regulatory requirements, and client goals in buffer management planning. Often considered are:

  • Integrated Vegetation Management (IVM) for invasive species control
  • View shed restoration
  • Habitat enhancement

Right of Way Vegetation Management

EECI offers right of way vegetation management services. A certified technician is available to apply herbicides in all Delaware right of ways. From basic spraying to fully developed Integrated Vegetation Management (IVM) plans, EECI can meet all of your right of way needs.

Right of Way vegetation management is important for many reasons including:
