Wetland Delineations:

 
 

Wetland delineation’s are needed when a planned activity involves the placement of fill material in a potential wetland area. Wetland delineations are also commonly performed by purchasers and sellers of land to assess the regulated and non regulated portions of a property. Wetland delineators use their skills and experience in botany, soil science, hydrology and sampling procedures, as well as the federally approved wetland delineation methods, to determine and document wetlands.

 
 


Transaction Screening

 
 

A questionnaire process that is a reduced scope of work from a Phase I ESA (ASTM E 1527). The purpose of this process is to aid in developing information pertaining to the environmental conditions of a subject property.

 
 


Biological Assessments

 
 

A sampling technique which uses living organisms (i.e., benthic macro invertebrates, vegetation, etc.) as a measure of water quality and or habitat dynamics. This process can identify, monitor, and control a change in water quality levels as we assess the quality of habitat.

Water Quality Monitoring

 
 

A sampling technique which tests the chemical, biological, and physical characteristics of water. This practice can identify, record, and control point and non-point source pollution.

 
 


DNREC and Army Corp Permitting

 
 

The State of Delaware and the Army Corp of Engineers require permits for the construction of structures in, over or under wetlands and sub aqueous lands and the filling and dredging of any material in wetlands. These activities include but are not limited to docks, piers, marinas, bulkheads, walkways over wetlands, jetties and bank/shoreline stabilization projects. If you are proposing to do any of these activities an environmental consultant should be contacted to acquire the required permits.

 
 


Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments

 
 

Phase I ESA (ASTM E 1527) – An assessment process that is conducted in order to identify the presence, or likely presence of past, present, or future recognized environmental conditions on a subject property and/or surrounding properties. This initial process of a site remediation is necessary for qualification of Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, & Liability Act (CERCLA) Landowner Liability Protections (LLPs).

In order to meet regulatory agency policy in conjunction with state-of-the-art green technology best management planning, Comprehensive open space management planning is required for the
pre and post construction maintenance of subdivision open space . applies to but is not limited to:

Rare and Threatened Species Determination

 
 

Delaware is a host to numerous rare and threatened species. One of the most commonly heard of in Sussex County is the Delmarva Fox Squirrel (Sciurus niger cinereus). They generally inhabit mature forests with open understories and wet woodlands. Delmarva Fox Squirrels were listed as federally endangered in 1967 and are protected by the Endangered Species Act. The Endangered Species Act requires development and land clearing projects that may directly and indirectly affect the Delmarva Fox Squirrels habitat to conduct a study by a state qualified surveyor to detect the presence of Delmarva Fox Squirrels.

Regulatory agency policies and comprehensive best management practices are presented to home owner associate's, municipal governments, committees, and non profit organizations thorough demonstrations that meet all learning styles.
